One of the Washington Center's primary purposes is to be the home for many of the region's finest performing arts programs. In addition, our facility is heavily rented for receptions, meetings, video shoots, public presentations, and more. In short, just about anything that needs space, from an intimate small reception rooms to a large theater. Our two theaters together average 450 rental days each year!

Washington Center / Mainstage Lobby
If you don't need to use the theater but need a space to accommodate several hundred for a reception, consider renting just the lobby. There are three distinct usable areas of different sizes and shapes.
Washington Center - Stage I / Mainstage
A proscenium theater with a seating capacity of 987 on four levels, a large green room area with a production office and four dressing rooms, and usable lobby space on 3 levels with capacity for anything from intimate receptions for 20 to larger receptions for 400.
Washington Center - Stage II / Black Box
Extremely flexible black box theater space with versatile seating options for up to 125, or for standing receptions of up to 200 with small adjacent lobby. The space can be set up theater style with seats on the floor or on flexibly-arranged risers, cabaret-style with round 4-top tables, reception style with tables around the room, etc., etc. There is one dressing room accommodating up to 8 people.
The Minnaert Center for the Arts at SPSCC
The Minnaert Center offers a 500-seat Main Stage theatre, Black Box theatre, and Gallery space. The Main Stage theatre holds 500 seats, accommodating up to 10 wheelchair patrons, and offers a full-sized stage with sprung floor, orchestra pit, two wings, crossover, orchestra shell and optional vinyl floor surface (Marlay). Our stage piano is a seven-foot Steinway concert B. Backstage amenities include men's and women's dressing rooms, Green Room, Costume Shop, practice and group music rooms and Scene Shop.
The Black Box theatre is 38-by-38 feet with a lighting grid at 15 feet. Our seating system offers flexible audience arrangements for up to 100 seats.
The 1,000 square-foot Gallery is unique to this region in its ability to accommodate not only two- and three-dimensional art on the walls and on pedestals, but also site-specific installation art. The space is topped with a strong, metal grid with electrical outlets throughout, maximizing the potential for hanging artwork and lighting.
