ANGELS IN AMERICA: PERESTROIKA

Angels in America, Millennium Approaches and Perestroika will be presented in repertory, alternating evenings until Sunday, November 18 when both parts of this epic work will be staged in one day with a dinner option offered by the lauded SPSCC Culinary Program on campus. Tony Kushner’s masterwork is considered by many to be one of the most important theatrical creations of the contemporary era.
ANGELS IN AMERICA: MILLENNIUM APPROACHES
In the first part of Tony Kushner’s epic, set in 1980’s New York City, a gay man is abandoned by his lover when he contracts the AIDS virus and a closeted Mormon lawyer’s marriage to his pill-popping wife stalls. Other characters include the infamous McCarthyite lawyer Roy Cohn, Ethel Rosenberg, a former drag queen who works as a nurse, and an angel.
