The Olympia Symphony’s 2019-2020 Season: “Vision: Through the Lens of Music”

Dvorak’s beloved New World Symphony is the centerpiece of this “Seeing is Believing” concert, and this household favorite will be enhanced on the big screen above the Orchestra in a “pictorial choreography” by Adrian Wyard — an amazing sequence of pictures and video from all corners of the USA. Violin phenom, Kaia Selden, will dazzle you with “Winter” from Vivaldi’s popular The Four Seasons, and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing, the OSO will perform Starburst, by the meteoric Jonathan Leshnoff.

Program:

SUPPE: Overture to The Beautiful Galatea

LESHNOFF: Starburst

VIVALDI: “Winter” from The Four Seasons (Kaia Selden, violin)

DVORAK: Symphony No. 9 “New World” (featuring visuals by Adrian Wyard)

Huw Edwards, Music Director and Conductor
