Swan Lake

We fully support our government’s stay-at-home order and social distancing measures. Therefore, with the recent decision to keep all Washington State school districts closed through the end of the school year (June 2020), it has become necessary for Studio West Dance Theatre to cancel all events relating to our beautiful production of Swan Lake. The Washington Center for the Performing Arts will be contacting ticket holders and refunding the ticket price(s) paid, minus the Washington Center’s $4 service fee.
These unsettling times have taken an emotional, financial, and devastating toll on many of us, but we are encouraged by the support we’ve received from our patrons, friends, and families. We look forward to the day when we can come together again to share our mutual love of the arts.

Studio West presents Tchaikovsky’s timeless masterpiece Swan Lake, which tells the story of Prince Siegfried who falls in love with the swan princess, Odette. Enchanted by a magical spell from the evil sorcerer Baron von Rothbart, Odette spends her days as a swan swimming in the Lake of Tears and her nights as her beautiful human form. The spell can only be broken by a man who will promise to love her for all of time. Tchaikovsky’s sweeping, complex score serves as the heartbeat as the story unfolds through beautiful choreography originated by Marius Petipa. Join us and discover why Swan Lake remains a well-loved, must-see classic for audiences young and old worldwide.

We are pleased to welcome to the Olympia stage, Francis Lawrence, in the title role of Prince Siegfried. Mr. Lawrence has performed professionally with ballet companies such as The Australian Ballet Company, New York Theatre Ballet, Grand Rapids Ballet and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. He moved to New York to pursue his performance career and most recently performed in An American in Paris by Christopher Wheeldon, I Married An Angelby Joshua Bergasse, and The Wizby Gerry McIntyre.
