Four Seasons

Emerald City Music is Olympia’s home for top-flight chamber music performances. Now entering its third season, the series brings over 45 classical soloists and chamber musicians to Olympia from every corner of the globe. The new season begins with an array of classical duos that explore the depths of our human ability to dream, emote, and find beauty when we gather together.
Opening night kicks off with Tartini’s Devil’s Trill Sonata: a dark virtuosic piece inspired by a nightmare of the devil enchanting the composer on the violin. The evening also features Paul Wiancko’s evocative “American Haiku” (performed by the composer himself), and concludes with Astor Piazzolla’s Four Seasons in Buenos Aires; a set of colorful tango works vividly portraying the changing seasons of Piazzolla’s native Argentina.
