IF Project

This event is a fundraiser for Thurston Thrives and the IF Project in order to bring this program to Thurston County. We will be showing the IF Documentary, which shows the collaboration between Law Enforcement and incarcerated woman working together, figuring out how we can help keep kids out of jail and what someone could have done to help the mothers of these kids them from going to jail/prison.

The IF Project is an innovative partnership between Law Enforcement, currently and previously incarcerated adults, community leaders, and youth in risky situations with the goal to build commonality, reduce misperceptions, and serve as a deterrent to recidivism and future incarceration. The IF Project also creates, maintains an/or enhances services for youth and young adults with mental health, substance abuse or co-occurring disorders, especially those involved in the criminal justice system. Built upon and inspired by people sharing their personal experiences surrounding the issues and hardships of incarceration and the tools available to avoid similar experiences. The IF Project is based on one question:

“If there was something someone could have said or done that would have changed the path that led you here, what would it have been?”

Through the exploration of pathways, we believe the youth and young adults who are in high risk situations will benefit from this project by addressing mental and behavioral health, substance abuse, goal setting, barrier removal, and greater community connectivity.
