What to Expect with Covid-19
The Washington Center for the Performing Arts has developed health and safety protocols in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Healthy Washington business and sector guidelines. The policies and procedures have been implemented to ensure that our venue remains a safe place for the community to enjoy the performing arts. Here’s what to expect:
Entering the Venue:
- The Washington Center is aligning with CDC, State and county policies, guidance and best practices and will no longer require proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter the venue.
- The Washington Center continues to encourage everyone to wear a mask while in the venue.
- Self-screening for Symptoms: Staff, volunteers, and artists will be requested to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms daily (fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, etc.). We request that all patrons self-screen for symptoms prior to arrival as well. If you are ill, please stay home. If you need to make arrangements for your existing tickets due to a COVID-19 related illness or exposure, contact the Washington Center Box Office at 360-753-8586.
- Tickets will be scanned by ushers; tickets will not be touched or torn.
In the Lobby:
- Hand sanitizer is available throughout the venue.
- Touchless paper towel and soap dispensers have been installed in our restrooms.
- Washington Center staff and/or volunteers will be regularly wiping down high-contact areas during the performance, such as door handles, handrails, etc.
In the Theater:
- Our ventilation system meets or exceeds all federal, state and local guidelines, including those recommended for COVID safety.
- The theater will be cleaned in-between all performances.
While we are doing everything we can to create a safe space to enjoy live entertainment, please note that exposure to the novel coronavirus potentially exists in all public places. By attending a performance at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, you voluntarily assume all risks and agree that you will not hold the Washington Center for the Performing Arts or the City of Olympia, or its employees liable for any resulting illness.
