WASHINGTON CENTER COVID-19 FAQ

 

Q. Is the Washington Center Box Office Open?
A.
Our box office opens and is staffed Tuesday through Saturday, 12:00pm-5:30pm and two hours before every live event. Need assistance at another time? Please leave a message at (360) 753-8586 or send an email to boxoffice@washingtoncenter.org. We will get back to you within one business day! The Box Office will be open one hour before the start of the performance. 

Q. Do I need to show proof of vaccination to come to a show?
A.
Patrons age 12 and older must show  proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative laboratory-issued COVID-19 test within 72 hours. Patrons age 18 and older must also show a photo ID. Patrons age 11 or younger are not required to show proof of vaccination or a negative test.

The following are acceptable as proof of full vaccination:

  • Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date last dose administered) OR
  • Photo of a vaccination card as a separate document OR
  • Photo of the attendee’s vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device OR
  • Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System record.

Self-reported vaccination records that are not verified by a health care provider cannot be accepted.

The following are acceptable as proof of a negative, lab-issued COVID-19 test result:

  • Printed document (from the test provider or laboratory) OR
  • Email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic device from the test provider or laboratory.
  • The information provided should include name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result (date of negative test result must be within prior 72 hours).

Self-reported negative test results that are not from a test provider, a laboratory, or a health care provider cannot be accepted.

Q. Are face coverings or masks required?
A.
Yes, appropriate face masks covering the nose and mouth are required to be worn by everyone entering and exiting the facility.

Q. I can’t wear a face mask, what are my options?
A.
Face masks are required to enter the facility and at all times inside the venue. If you are unable or unwilling to wear an appropriate face mask covering your nose and mouth, you are invited to purchase a virtual streaming ticket (not available for all performances). Our guidelines may change, so please check back with us. In the meantime, we look forward to welcoming you back to the theater when face masks are no longer a necessity for large group gatherings.

Q. What if I cannot get the vaccine?
A. In addition to proof of vaccination, we are also accepting proof of a negative COVID-19 test provided by a lab within 72 hours for entry. COVID testing is available at the kiosk outside our box office. For more information or to schedule a test go to https://cur.tv/wacenter

Q. Where can I get tested?
A.
The Washington Center is partnering with the City of Olympia and Curative to offer onsite testing. The Curative kiosk is located on the street outside the Box Office across from Captain Little. The COVID test is self-collected and painless, helping you and your family stay healthy. Scheduled and Walk-up appointments are available.

Curative provides PCR tests with results delivered 24-72 hours from sample receipt at the lab. PCR tests are available at no cost to you. Ticket buyers are encouraged to schedule their PCR tests in advance to ensure results in a timely manner. Go to https://cur.tv/wacenter for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Curative also provides rapid antigen tests with results delivered within 15-30 minutes. Rapid antigen test are available for $59. If you are interested in getting a rapid test, you can purchase at the Washington Center Box Office and bring it to the Curative kiosk. Patrons interested in rapid tests should allow time for potential lines especially prior to the start of a show.

Q. I don’t have proof of vaccination or a negative test, can I get a refund?
A. Yes, ticket holders that are unwilling or unable to comply with the above COVID-19 protocols have until two weeks before their event to request a refund, less ticket service fees. Otherwise, copy of a positive COVID-19 test (see above) will be required for a ticket refund, less ticket service fees. This can be emailed prior to the event time to boxoffice@washingtoncenter.org with their ticket confirmation number. No refunds will be given if there is no timely communication prior to the event.

Q. What if I buy tickets and the performance gets cancelled?
A. We want our patrons to feel confident about their ticket purchases. If a show is rescheduled, your tickets will automatically transfer to the new date. Can’t attend the new date? Call the Box Office and we will assist you with your flexible options. If a show is cancelled altogether, we will offer a full refund of the ticket price. (Service fees are not considered part of the ticket price, and are nonrefundable.)

Q. What if I buy tickets and am sick or in contact with someone sick with COVID?
A. We want all our patrons to feel confident in their ticket purchases. In the event you are exposed to or contract COVID-19, you may:

  • Gift your tickets to a friend, OR
  • Donate your tickets back to the Center, OR
  • Exchange your tickets for another event in the future* OR
  • Request a refund of the ticket price. (Ticket price does not include service fees.)

Q. How do I get my tickets?
A. Tickets will be emailed to you. Will-call tickets available by request.

Q. Can you scan my tickets from my phone?
A. YES! Please have tickets open and ready for scanning before you reach the door, and remember to have your brightness turned up!

Q. What is your air filtration situation?
A. Air filtration rating/grade is MERV 8 pre filter and MERV 14 bag filter. Our Turnover rate is 4.5 times per hour.

Q. How are you cleaning the theater between events?
A. After each event our team will sanitize the seating area, restrooms, and all other high-traffic and high-touch areas to prepare for the next patrons to safely utilize the building.

Q. Do you require physical distancing at the Center?
A. We are following Washington State Guidelines which do not currently require physical distancing.

Ticket Exchanges
Please contact the Box Office at least 24 hours before the performance

The sooner we know about your problem, the sooner we can find a solution. For performances on a Sunday or a Monday, please contact the box office the preceding Saturday.


For Washington Center Season Events

Tickets for Washington Center Presented events may be exchanged to other Washington Center Presented events in advance by phone, or in person, subject to availability.

There is an exchange fee per ticket unless you are a member of our FRIENDS program.


For Artistic Partner & Rental Events

In general, tickets for Artistic Partner & rental events may be exchanged to another performance put on by the same organization. For example, tickets to a Masterworks production may be exchanged to other Masterworks productions but not to Washington Center Presented or other Artistic Partner events.

Please note that our Artistic Partners and renters are entitled to set their own ticket exchange policy, which may differ from the general guidelines above. Always check with the Box Office before making plans.

There is an exchange fee per ticket for Artistic Partner and rental events..


All ticket purchases are considered final, and we do not issue refunds.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have created the following Patron Guarantee: We want our patrons to feel confident about their ticket purchases. Lost Tickets

Contact the Box Office during regular business hours to recover lost tickets. A reissue fee of $4.00 per ticket will apply.

Discounts

Discounts are not currently available for Washington Center Presents events as we accommodate new physical distancing guidelines for the safety of our patrons.

The following discounts may be offered for Washington Center Presented events, but may not be available at some of our rental and Artistic Partner shows. To find out when the following discounts are available, please contact our box office.

Military / 10% off / Available to active, former, or reservist patrons and one dependent

Student Rush / $10 tickets / Only available the day of an event, if purchased in person at the Box Office. Available to all patrons 18 and younger or patrons of any age with valid student ID

Group Discount / 15% Off / Available to groups of 15 or more. Please contact the Box Office to coordinate a group ticket sale.

Service Fee Information

As part of our agreement with the City of Olympia to maintain the facility of the Washington Center, a service fee is attached to every ticket for events occurring at both the Washington Center & the Minnaert Center at South Puget Sound Community College. This fee is incurred on all tickets.

These fees go towards to our “Repair and Refresh” fund to maintain the areas of the building the City of Olympia is not contractually obligated to maintain. Fees for tickets at The Minnaert Center and Harlequin Productions go into operational funds for the Washington Center’s Box Office with those facilities.

The Washington Center for the Performing Arts makes every attempt to make our events as accessible as possible. Please view our helpful guide to accessible accommodations and contact our Box Office staff if you have questions or would like to make arrangements.

Vouchers

Washington Center vouchers can be redeemed after single tickets go on sale at the beginning of the season announcement.

For information on vouchers for Artistic Partner or rental events please contact the box office or producing organization.

To redeem a voucher, please contact our box office staff. Vouchers can be redeemed over the phone or in person, and all vouchers must be turned in before tickets can be claimed. Vouchers are subject to ticket limits per show and per customer, and do not guarantee seating in any specific area, so be sure to redeem early for the best seats. Standard facility fees apply.

Lost & Found

Our facilities are thoroughly cleaned after each event, and we do maintain and lost and found. If you have lost and item, please contact our office staff during regular business hours.

Policies
Children age 2 and under do not need a ticket if they will be sitting on your lap. Children ages 3 and up will need a ticket in order to attend our events.
Inclement Weather

General policy at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts is that all events are held rain or shine, with the exception of severe/dangerous weather.

Events held at Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts are subject to school-wide closures. Decisions regarding college closures will normally be made by 5:30 am on the day in question and broadcasted shortly thereafter. Decisions regarding evening classes/events may be made later in the day and might not observe the same type of closures as daytime. The college closure information will be updated on the school website at 10:00am and at 3:00pm.

In case of cancellation, notifications will be provide as soon as possible via customer email, our website, and social media. This information will also contain details regarding ticketing options, which may include refunds, exchanges, reschedules, or tax-deductible donation options.

Security

Only event ticket holders are permitted into the theater during scheduled events. Only on-duty officers of the law may carry weapons in our theaters. Patrons may not bring weapons of any kind into our theaters, regardless of any licenses. This includes firearms. Please store weapons offsite in a secure location before entering theater premises.
