What to Expect with Covid-19

The Washington Center for the Performing Arts has developed new health and safety protocols in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Healthy Washington business and sector guidelines. The new policies and procedures have been implemented to ensure that our venue remains a safe place for the community to enjoy the performing arts. Here’s what to expect:

Entering the Venue:

  • All patrons, volunteers, staff, and performers are required to wear face coverings while inside the venue at all times. You will not be permitted to enter the venue without one. If you do not have one, one will be provided for you.
  • If you are feeling sick or reside with someone who is ill, please stay home.
  • Tickets will be scanned by ushers; tickets will not be touched or torn.

In the Lobby:

  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout the venue.
  • Concessions is closed until further notice. Patrons are not permitted to consume food or drink in the theater or lobby spaces except at the water fountain with provided cups.
  • Touchless paper towel and soap dispensers have been installed in our restrooms.
  • Washington Center staff and/or volunteers will be regularly wiping down high-contact areas during the performance, such as door handles, handrails, etc.
  • Physical distance floor stickers will be used outside each e restroom. Inside the restrooms, every other stall may be utilized. When the restroom is at capacity, we will utilize a “one-in/one-out” system.

In the Theater:

  • Our ventilation system meets or exceeds all federal, state and local guidelines, including those recommended for COVID safety.
  • We will be operating at reduced capacity until further notice to ensure required physical distancing between patrons. Attendees must remain in their assigned seats. NO exceptions.
  • All ticketed groups will be physically distanced from other guests.
  • The theater will be cleaned in-between all performances.

While we are doing everything we can to create a safe space to enjoy live entertainment, please note that exposure to the novel coronavirus exists in all public places. By attending a performance at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts, you voluntarily assume all risks and agree that you will not hold the Washington Center for the Performing Arts or the City of Olympia, or its employees liable for any resulting illness.
