Give Local: Support the Arts & Culture in South Puget Sound

We’re delighted to be one of the organizations participating in Give Local, a brand new campaign through The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound. The campaign runs November 21 through December 13! All donations will be matched up to $5,000.

Your donation will provide underwriting for our artistic partners: our local youth and adult performing arts groups so that they have an affordable and professional space to bring arts and culture to our community.

Our Artistic and Community partner Advancement Program helps underwrite the cost for local artistic and community organizations. Last year, this underwriting equaled $69,450.

Jill Barnes, Executive Director, says, “We’re proud of the support we provide to our local artistic partners. Our support allows groups to focus more of their limited resources on other aspects of their events so they may flourish in their artistic missions.”

Ken Johnson, Co-Artistic Director of Ballet Northwest says, “The Center plays an integral role in the development of these young South Sound artists. The experience they receive is unparalleled.” Ballet Northwest is one of over 20 artistic and community partners, which make over 59% of total ticket sales during the past season. “On behalf of the hundreds of local dancers who perform on the stage of the Washington Center each year,” says Johnson, “we are grateful for the Center’s beautiful and professional facilities.”

Support for our Artistic and Community Partner Advancement Program allows us to offer reduced rates to non-profit organizations, allowing them to thrive artistically while being fiscally responsible, which is critical for the operation of arts and culture non-profits. Over 20 local organizations benefit, including Ballet Northwest, Masterworks Choral Ensemble, Olympia Junior Programs, Olympia Symphony Orchestra, Olympia Youth Chorus, Student Orchestras of Greater Olympia, and Studio West Dance Theatre.

You can help us reach our campaign goal! Donate before December 13 at
