Last Friday, I saw the Seattle Rock Orchestra play music from David Bowie, including hits like “Changes,” “Under Pressure,” and of course, “Space Oddity”. Let me say, even as a person who has never really listened to much David Bowie, I had a phenomenal time!
First off, the instrumental playing was impeccable. The solos from the sax, violin, and cello, to name a few, were incredible, and every time were met with thunderous applause. As for the singing performance, I couldn’t have hoped for a better trio of vocalists to listen to. Their voices were amazing, and I was very much reminded of the actual Bowie recordings as they sang the songs I knew. Thanks to this wonderful group, I had an incredibly enjoyable time on Friday night, and I hope to see them again in the future!
